Janelle, a Charleston, South Carolina native, was raised on James Island. Her journey began with lessons in resilience, hard work, and faith. Guided by the quiet strength of her mother, who navigated life’s challenges with grace and strategic financial choices, Janelle learned early on the importance of perseverance and financial independence. At the same time, her father’s gentle, nurturing nature taught her to embrace compassion and care.
Driven by a calling to lead and serve, Janelle enlisted in the United States Air Force. Her military career took her from Washington, D.C. to Okinawa, Japan, across Europe, and to several assignments throughout the United States. Along the way, she discovered her passion for leadership and financial literacy. While fulfilling her military duties, Janelle also pursued higher education—earning a degree in Business Management, a Master’s in Business Management, and a Financial Planning certificate from Boston University.
Founded in 2025, “Empowered Investor” was built on the principles of strong leadership, smart investing, and financial empowerment. With over 20 years of military leadership experience and a proven track record of financial success, Janelle created her company to help individuals take control of their financial future through education, strategy, and disciplined decision-making.
